4-20-20 THOUGHTS

Good morning Church.  It’s a new day, one more opportunity to grow in the Lord.

Eph 4:23  and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
Col 3:10   and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him —
I think it just normal when we encounter the unfamiliar for us to flee to the familiar. I did that this morning.  Here’s what I chose as “the familiar”...   But I caution us on the familiar.  We can take it for granted, read it too rapidly and thus miss its depths.  Read this slowly and carefully this morning.  Pause on each part absorb its essence.  Read it several times until it is a part of you.  Let it go with you in this day!

Psalms 23
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.  2  He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.  3  He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. 4  Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5  You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. 6  Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

My Prayer
Oh God of eternity be with us this day.  Help our souls to grow in you.  Help us to see that our cups do indeed overflow.  We trust in your promises Oh God.  We pray for quieter waters and the absence of this virus threat.  We pray for a closer walk with you and that we may dwell with you forever.          I Jesus name                        Amen
